View Article  It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

No, I don't mean Christmas, but the start of the baseball season and Mr. Met is the part of the jolly man in a suit.  Is it bad that my year revolves around the MLB schedule?  Seriously, I don't recognize the new year until the first pitch of a new baseball season.

I am so excited right now I can't contain myself at my office.  I do have one issue, and that is I am not leaving work early to go catch the game.  Instead, I made the difficult decision to DVR the game.  I say difficult because from 4:00 until I get home I will have to avoid all contact with people, my computer and my phone.  I have already sent a spoiler alert email to my friends saying I do not want to know ANYTHING that happens.

As you can see, opening day is very important to me.  It is a fresh beginning, a new start filled with hope and optimism.  We know the Mets will win at least 60 games and lose about 60 games, it is the other 42 games that make this so interesting.

Welcome 2008 MLB season.  I look forward to seeing what you have to offer.

Less than 2 hours! Johan fucking Santana! Let's Go Mets!
View Article  Upcoming Auctions, Mets Memorabilia
On April 12th, The Written Word Autographs company will be having an auction that will include many lots of baseball memorabilia.  Here are a few of the interesting ones:

For your Mets collection, Lot 693 is a Mets Hat Signed by Nolan Ryan. It also includes four other signed hats by  Nomar, Dale Murphy, David Justice and Javier Lopez.  You can pick up these hats up at an estimate between $150-250.

Other interesting items for auction include Lot 704 a Pete Rose "Confession" Baseball Signed.  What a disaster this guy is.  He actually signed balls saying he bet on baseball just to make a few bucks.  Unreal.  Anyway, the auction estimate on this is $300-500.

Finally, for the politically minded baseball collector is Lot 223 a Barack and Michelle Obama Signed Baseball.  It is just my opinion, but he will be our next President.  I will reserve my political rants for another time.  So, own this ball with at an estimate of $200-400.  Don't say I didn't tell you so when he wins and this ball is worth 2x's this estimate.
