View Article  San Francisco Giants and Barry Bonds

Put the tent up, the Barry Bonds circus is coming into town.  I heard a rumor this weekend that Bonds wouldn't be playing tonight, Tuesday May 29th.  I believe it was Gary Cohen who reported this during the Mets game this past Sunday.  Can anyone verify this?

If so, why wouldn't Bonds play?  To rest his body that has been abused by steroids?  To avoid the New York crowd?  All speculation, obviously.

As a season ticket holder I would like to see Bonds play all three games.  I don't have any visions of catching a Bonds 747, 748 or 749 ball.  What I do have visions of is seeing the biggest cheat in baseball history.  What this guy has done is tremendous, he is an amazing talent, but, he is a cheat and will always be a cheat.  He has disgraced the game of baseball and for that he will never earn this fan's respect.

I need to buy a king-size bed sheet so I can paint an asterisk the size of Barry's large steroid grown head and hang it from the railing of my "platinum" priced tickets for these three games.  It is every fans responsibility to boo Bonds.

It will be refreshing to have Ken Griffey Jr. come to town.......
View Article  Upcoming Auction, Mets Memorabilia
Sotheby's will be having a fantastic Sports Memorabilia and Cards Auction on June 5th in New York City.  There are some great pieces of baseball history in this auction, especially New York Yankee items.  Here is one Mets piece that caught my attention:

Lot 263 is Case Stengel's 1969 World Series Ring, estimated at $30,000-$40,000.  I didn't realize that the '69 ring was fetching so much money.  If you look back at my pictures from Fantasy Camp, you will see me wearing Ron Gaspar's '69 ring, here.  Lot 263 comes with full provenance and letter of authenticity from the Stengel family.

If you can't afford to add the Stengel ring to your collection try this moderately priced item......

The Last Moving Picture Company will auction off a collection of Vintage Posters on May 26th.  Lot 138 is a New York Mets Subway Poster, estimated at $300-$400.  This item features 1988 Topps baseball cards of Mets.  It is an interesting item and a nice addition to any Mets collection.

You can view other pieces of baseball memorabilia coming up for auction here.......

- The happy re-cap from the Washington Nationals roadtrip April 27-29
- Milwaukee Brewers with my father Saturday May 12
- Yankees/Mets Friday May18.
